Fisetin
Senolytic flavonoid from strawberries. Selectively kills senescent (zombie) cells. The most-promising senolytic from a safety profile standpoint.
What it actually is
Not a peptide. Fisetin is a flavonol polyphenol found in strawberries, apples, persimmons, and onions. It selectively triggers apoptosis in senescent cells, cells that have stopped dividing but secrete inflammatory signals. Senescent cell accumulation is a hallmark of aging.
Why peptide users come across it
The leading practical senolytic. Mayo Clinic ran human safety trials. Often dosed in 'hit-and-run' protocols, high doses for 2 days, then off for weeks/months. Pairs with quercetin and dasatinib in the dasatinib-quercetin senolytic protocol.
Mechanism
Binds to anti-apoptotic proteins (BCL-2 family) preferentially in senescent cells, tipping them toward apoptosis. Healthy cells are largely spared because they don't have the same dependence on those anti-apoptotic signals. Also has antioxidant + anti-inflammatory direct effects.
