Amino-acid supplements whose benefit shrinks toward zero once total protein intake is adequate — the trials keep saying so.
What the evidence says
BCAAs alone stimulate a limited muscle-protein-synthesis response — smaller than a complete essential-amino-acid or protein source provides, since synthesis needs the full set. EAAs are more defensible (they are the full set), but when total high-quality protein intake is adequate, trials generally show little additional benefit from either.
What studies used
Studies typically used BCAA 5–10 g or EAA 10–15 g. Study protocols dosed around training sessions.

Watch out for
- At an adequate protein intake, trials show little added benefit — total daily protein is the variable that matters
