Quercetin
Longevity
A common plant flavonoid, popular first for immunity and now as half of a senolytic pair.
What the evidence says
Modest blood-pressure reductions appear across meta-analyses, mostly in people who were hypertensive to begin with. The senolytic interest — clearing senescent cells alongside dasatinib — is a genuine and active research programme, but the human work is early-phase and small, and it uses a prescription chemotherapy drug alongside it, which the supplement version does not replicate.
What studies used
Trials commonly used 500–1,000 mg/day; senolytic protocols used intermittent higher doses. Absorption improves with fat; often paired with bromelain in products.
Reported from published studies and product labelling — a record of what was used in research, not a recommendation. What is right for you is a conversation with a clinician.
Watch out for
- Shows interaction potential through drug-metabolising enzymes and transporters, though the clinically important magnitude in people is not well quantified
- Absorption is low and varies with formulation, so trial results do not transfer neatly between products
Evidence base
established literature
Strong human evidence: either a phase 3 or 4 trial report alongside review-level evidence, or ten or more randomised controlled trial reports.
This letter measures how much human research exists, not whether it works for you — the tier above (Limited) is the read on quality.
