The fastest-growing peptides of 2026

Search interest is not the same as proof. Here's what's climbing fastest in 2026, and the honest state of the evidence behind each one.

The category is still accelerating

Peptide interest is not a passing spike. US peptide-related searches passed roughly 10 million a month in early 2026, and the broader market sits in the tens of billions of dollars. The GLP-1 weight-loss compounds pulled the whole category into the mainstream, and the attention has spread to recovery, skin, and longevity from there.

That attention is uneven. A few compounds are pulling almost all of the new search growth. Below is what is climbing fastest, with the trial data attached so you can separate the signal from the noise.

Retatrutide: the one everyone is watching

Retatrutide is the steepest riser in the weight-loss group, with search interest up several hundred percent year over year. It is a triple agonist, hitting the GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors at once, where semaglutide hits one and tirzepatide hits two.

The trial numbers are why. In its Phase 2 obesity study, participants on the highest dose lost on the order of a quarter of their body weight at 48 to 68 weeks, ahead of what semaglutide or tirzepatide produced in their own trials. The catch worth repeating: retatrutide is still investigational. It is in Phase 3, not FDA-approved, and the long-term safety picture is not finished. The search volume is running ahead of the regulatory clock.

VK2735: the oral contender

VK2735, from Viking Therapeutics, is the name to know in the "GLP-1 you might swallow instead of inject" conversation. It is a dual GLP-1 and GIP agonist with both a weekly injectable and a once-daily oral form in development.

In the Phase 2 VENTURE program, the injectable produced mean weight loss up to about 15% from baseline over 13 weeks, and the oral tablet reached about 12% in the same window. The oral data came with a catch the headlines skipped: stomach side effects drove a meaningful share of participants to drop out at the higher doses. The injectable is already in Phase 3, and the oral form is expected to follow around late 2026, with pivotal results not expected before 2027. Still, an oral option that lands near injectable results is a big deal for people who will never be comfortable with a needle, which is why the search line is bending upward.

GHK-Cu: the skincare crossover

Not everything surging is about weight. GHK-Cu, a copper peptide, has seen some of the sharpest search growth of any compound in the category, and almost none of it is coming from the fitness crowd. It is being driven by skin and hair content, where it shows up in topical serums for firmness, wound healing, and regrowth.

GHK-Cu is the clearest example of the category leaking into ordinary beauty routines. The evidence here is mostly topical and early, and a copper peptide in a serum is a very different risk conversation than an injectable, which is exactly why it travels so easily on social.

The sleeper category: longevity

The quiet story of 2026 is the longevity group, compounds people run for aging, sleep, and recovery rather than a number on a scale. Interest is climbing on a curve that looks a lot like where weight-loss peptides were a few years ago, before they broke out. This is the category to watch if you want to see where attention goes next.

What the search surge does not tell you

A rising search line measures curiosity, not safety and not results. Most of the fastest-growing names on this list are investigational, sold "research only," or backed by early data, and the people searching them are often a step ahead of the evidence. That gap is the whole reason to read the trial detail before the trend.
